Shaped By Water
A new exhibition ‘Shaped By Water’, featuring my paintings alongside sculptures by Clair Chinnery, will be at Rona Painting Gallery in Oxford in October 2023.
The exhibition will explore the shaping qualities of water and the interplay between water and stone. Clair’s sculptures are carved from limestone that was formed over 150 millions years ago through a process involving the remains of prehistoric life forms, sunlight and the action of water. My paintings incorporate the calcium carbonate dust created by the sculpting process, creating sandbanks and channels for the water to dictate and distort the movement of the paint.
